    Grinding smooth after welding how strong?? 09-15-2004, 01:55 AM I need to butt weld some .120 1.5" x 3" tubing after I weld it i want to grind it smooth so when I paint it the weld won't stick out like a sore thumb how much weaker will it be if I grind the weld smooth with the surface of the tubing.
